Organically farmed single vineyard Pinot Noir from the deep end of Anderson Valley. The Grant vineyard is on a Southwest facing hillside, where 25-year-old vines are in the path of morning breezes and fog from the Mendocino coast. Pinot Noir thrives in this cooler micro-climate; the site produces Pinots with magnificent flavors of blackberry brambles, dark cherry as well as ethereal forest spice aromatics; held together in delicious balance with elegant tannins and bright acidity.
The deep roots of these beautiful old vines grow in sandstone & clay soils with a cover crop of native wildflowers and grasses.
Grapes are hand harvested, de-stemmed, then vinified in stainless steel. Aged in French oak barrels for 10 months (30% new oak). With an additional 2 years of bottle age before release.
Very limited production, 6 barrels.
